INGREDIENTS

For modak 

  • ⁠  ⁠1 cup Australian Macadamia Nuts
  • ⁠  ⁠¼ cup milk powder
  • ⁠  ⁠½ cup sugar
  • ⁠  ⁠¼ cup water
  • ⁠  ⁠2 tsp rose syrup

For garnising 

  • ⁠  ⁠Rose petals
  • ⁠  ⁠Nuts of choice
  • ⁠  ⁠Silver vark
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. ⁠  ⁠Grind Australian Macadamia Nuts into a fine powder and set aside.
  2. ⁠  ⁠In a pan, combine sugar and water, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. ⁠  ⁠Once the syrup starts boiling, lower the heat and gradually add the nut powder and milk powder, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
  4. ⁠  ⁠Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  5. ⁠  ⁠Divide the mixture into two bowls.
  6. ⁠  ⁠Add rose syrup to one bowl and mix until the mixture turns pink.
  7. ⁠  ⁠Leave the other bowl plain for the white modaks.
  8. ⁠  ⁠Grease your hands and modak mold with a bit of ghee.
  9. ⁠  ⁠Press a small portion of the white mixture into the mold, followed by a layer of the pink mixture.
  10. ⁠  ⁠Gently remove the shaped modak and place it on a greased plate.
  11. ⁠  ⁠Allow the modaks to cool and set for 15-20 minutes.
  12. ⁠  ⁠Garnish with rose petals, nuts of your choice, and silver vark before serving.
