INGREDIENTS
Ingredients For Puran
- 1/2 cup Australian Macadamia Nuts
- 1/2 cup chana dal
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1/2 cup jaggery
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- Pinch of salt
Ingredients For Poli
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp oil
- Water to knead dough
INSTRUCTIONS
- Soak the chana dal for 2-3 hours and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles with salt, turmeric and water until it becomes mushy.
- Roast the Australian Macadamia Nuts and grind it into a paste.
- Next mix all the ingredients of poli and knead into a soft dough. Cover and keep aside.
- To make the puran, heat a pan. Add in ghee, cooked chana dal. Cook it for 2-3 minutes while mashing it, then add Australian Macadamia Nuts paste, jaggery, cardamom powder, salt and mix it continuously till it thickens.
- When the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan, switch off the flame and let it cool.
- To make the puran poli, take a portion of the dough, roll it out and stuff the puran mixture into it. Seal it properly.
- Slightly press the dough ball with hands and roll it into a thin chapati.
- Cook it from both sides by applying ghee. Take care not to over–cook it as the stuffing is already quite soft.
- Serve hot, topped with some ghee.
